You Are the One You’ve Been Waiting For

Why wrestle with the world to get what I want, when I can do that for myself? Whether it’s feeling peaceful, loved, happy-when I really take responsibility for myself, I can create those feelings from the inside. I don’t need to manipulate the world to have them. Those feelings exist already inside me. All I have to do is access them. Sometimes that’s no easy task, but it’s far easier and far more dependable than trying to get what I want from outside myself.

What do I do? I start by quietening myself. Call it meditation if you like, but I go to a quiet place and still my mind. Then I re-call other times when I felt the feelings I am desiring. I scan my life in the past and present looking for all the times I felt really good. I remember the feelings in my body and focus on bringing them back in the here and now.

I then add in some really sweet self-talk, reminding myself of all I appreciate about myself, all I value.

By now, I’m usually starting to feel really great. And I feel so powerful being able to do this for myself.

Then the truth hits me: I AM the one I’ve been waiting for.

And you are the one you’ve been waiting for.

Show up for yourself and see.

If you want help, call me for a free 30-minute, over the phone, Idea session on how to modulate your feelings states. There is no obligation beyond this session and the long distance charges are on me!

How to Get Cut Muscles – Get Shredded the Fast Way

Having a fit and buff body is high on the list for many of us, especially those who are confined to a cubicle day after day with no real opportunity to take part in physical activity. Maintaining a balanced and healthy diet is critical if you are looking to lose weight and bulk up.

There are many myths associated with losing weight and gaining muscle. Quite simply, the more you eat the more you will gain and the more of this weight can be turned into muscle. This is partially true. If you do eat huge portions at every meal day after day there is no doubt that you will gain the pounds that you seek. But ARE these actually the pounds that you were hoping for? An abundance of calories, especially if they are the wrong calories, will ultimately obtain you a nice rounds beer belly or flabby thighs. So where is this muscle that you wanted? There is more to fitness than just eating, you friends. You must have a persistent and willful frame of mind. Stick to your exercise program and don’t stray.

Cardio is a necessary part of an exercise program. This will definitely help to burn calories quickly. These calories also help to develop muscle mass, but don’t fret about losing them. There are other methods that will gain those monster pecs and rock hard thighs that you desperately dream about.

When you are targeting a certain muscle group, do a set and then alternate to a different muscle group – preferably one that directly opposes the original muscles you worked. This will alternately rest these groups and work them at the same time. This method helps to cut down on the amount of time actually spent working out as well as burns calories faster.

Most importantly, always allow ample time to rest between sets as well as between workouts. Take a day off here and there; don’t over do it.

My Dog Has Fleas

Watch your dog very closely for signs of fleas. If they have them, they will scratch and bite at their skin often. If you find fleas on your dog, a good flea bath will help them out tremendously. Fill up the tub, or an old wading pool outside, with warm, soapy water full of flea soap. Thoroughly bathe your dog using the flea soap, and use a fine tooth comb to pull through their fur to find fleas. Drown them by dropping them into the water. Dry your pet completely when they are out of the tub. Later, check for fleas again. Repeat the flea bath if necessary.

After your dog has been rid of the fleas, wash the bedding that they have slept on in hot water. Clean everything around the areas they frequently lay, and wash them as well if you can. Make sure to watch closely for fleas, or flea debris which will turn up by the black grainy dried blood on your dog. This is a sure sign of fleas on your dog.

There are many over the counter solutions and powders available for the prevention and ridding of fleas. Flea collars are also a good idea, and will repel fleas by their smell. Your vet can recommend the best brand for your dog, to keep them healthy and flea-free.

Go Vintage in Console Tables

When you walk into your home, what is the first piece of furniture that greets you? If the answer is not a console table by the front door, then your home is missing out. Let’s look at a couple of the purposes that can be served by a console table.

Do you always find yourself forgetting where you left your keys in the house? Are you one of those people that spends a few minutes every day looking for your keys or has just given up on that and gotten one of those key chains that will beep when you clap for it? Instead, create a habit were you always put your keys on the console table. That’s what it is here for.

Other uses for the console table include being an excellent place to keep the mail that you’ve brought in or that needs to go out to the mailbox, a location to store a flashlight so it’s always within reach when you need to go outside at night, a location for the kids to know where to look for paperwork, lunches and other things they need to take to school as well as many other roles.

Now that you understand how important these pieces of furniture are you may be wondering why you don’t have one in your home? Well, now is the time to remedy that. But, you’re thinking, I have a home that is filled with vintage styling. How can I possibly find a console table good for modern uses with such an old look to it?

It won’t be a problem. You see, that vintage look is quite popular when it comes to home décor. So, you won’t have a problem finding new pieces that have a vintage look. But, you also have the option of finding old pieces that really are vintage in this style of furniture.

You see console tables are not brand-new items. They have been around for quite some time for people who understand the importance of having an organized home. Here are a couple of places you may want to shop around to see if you can find the perfect vintage table for your home.

Antique Stores

One of the first places you may want to look for these types of tables is your local antique shop. Even if they don’t have one in stock, talk to the proprietor. They know where to find antique and vintage items and may be able to help you out.

Estate Sales

The next place to look is at estate sales. It’s a fact of life that people die every day. Many of them have old furniture that would be perfect for your vintage home. Therefore, keeping your eyes open for estate sales that are happening in your community may land you the piece of furniture you want at a reasonable price.

Joint Pain Or Muscle Pain?

Many people associate joint pains with rheumatoid arthritis, but they hardly consider muscle pains playing a role in the game. In fact, it should be acknowledged that if you have muscle pains around certain areas, especially around legs and arms, the culprit could be none other than joint inflammations that are commonly seen in arthritis.

The common symptoms of stiffness, pain and swelling in joints could easily affect the surrounding muscles and give you mixed signals. Therefore, recognizing whether the pain comes from a joint or a muscle may not be an easy task for someone suffering from rheumatoid arthritis.

For example, pain in the feet is very common but no one really cares about it. Remember that if your body is aching or in pain, it is a signal that something is wrong, somewhere in your body. In fact, pain is your messenger that indicates danger. So ignoring aches and pains will not help you in any way. When your feet hurt, you tend to change your posture. The latter may cause stress and fatigue to your muscles. And with that, you’ve welcomed muscle pain too! These posture problems may then lead to digestion problems, problems of the lower back and knees. Do you see the link?

Similarly in rheumatoid arthritis, joint pains can run from arms to legs, spreading its inflammations all around the joints and sometimes affecting the organs in the vicinity. Therefore, if you experience muscle pains and fatigue on top of the usual joint pains, you should know that inflammations are devil dancing in your body.

According to western medicine, although there is no known cure for rheumatoid arthritis, some alternative treatment methods such as Unani system have proven to be effective in eliminating the condition. The bottom line for any person suffering from rheumatoid arthritis is to know that something has gone wrong somewhere and that if treated, or taken care of early, the conditions could even be reversed.

Regular exercise in healthy doses is a must for any one suffering from joint and muscle pain due to rheumatoid arthritis. Additionally there are health supplements such as Omega-3 fatty acids, SAMe, TMG and Glucosamine that can assist you in the process. Additionally, there are alternative healing methods such as reflexology, yoga and reiki that you can try out with zero risk and no after effects.

Never Again Hear Your Kids Say During The Summer, "I’m Bored!"

You know how it works. Your children are excited about the upcoming summer as the school year comes to a close. Then, for the first week or so they are all fired up and balls of energy. Then, they run out of energy and things to do. And you hear, “I’m bored,” and “What should I do?” Your summer has just turned ugly.

First of all, let me say that it is easy for kids to get bored during the summer because they have so much freedom. But childhood freedom often becomes the strongest of all chains; a slave master who uses mind-numbing boredom as punishment. My belief and study has shown that kids do not need unfettered freedom. Kids need structure in order to grow and feel fulfilled.

Here’s my simple 3-step process for eliminating your child’s boredom during the summer months.

Step 1
You should sit down with your kids before the school-is-out-for-the-summer season hits and write a list of their GOALS for the summer. Setting goals is the most important step you can take to keep your child from getting bored during the summer. Ask your kid these questions (and have them write down the answers):
- What new sports do you want to learn?
- What new challenges do you want to tackle?
- What new books do you want to read?
- What new sights do you want to see?
- What new skills do you want to learn?
- What area(s) do you want to improve in?

Step 2
Next – using the goals as your guide, you and your kid(s) should write out a week-by-week schedule of summer activities for them. (I actually recommend you have the entire summer scheduled out day-by-day, but let me allow you to ease into this.)

Step 3
Then, follow the schedule.

My kids have not uttered the phrase, “I’m bored,” since I began this approach to their summers. They are too busy, engaged and happy to be bored! And yours will be as well. And I know that your kids and mine will look back someday (as we parents do) and say how great this or that summer was because of what they did.

To help you get rolling, I am providing you (below) a list of 301 things that your kid can do during the summer. Many of these are low cost or no cost. This list makes sure that no kid need ever be bored.

The following list of 301 activities will help your kid, your family, and you take full advantage of the warm weather season and spark the creativity that makes summer the best time of the year! Your kid can look over the list and choose any activities they are interested in and get started. Some of my suggested activities require parental permission, but most are suitable for your kids to complete on their own.
